Description

Effective February 18, 1958, Western Air Lines (later absorbed by Delta Airlines) extended Air Mail Route 35 from Phoenix to Los Angeles under a restriction by the Civil Aeronautics Board that flights on this extension were required to terminate or originate at Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington. This greatly improved Phoenix's service to the Pacific Northwest.
