Description
This original genuine Fender MIJ ST68 mid 1990s Vintage Strat Pickup set is extremely rare. The bridge and middle pickups have cloth wires and are in excellent working condition and the wiring and switch are functional. The neck pickup (with green wire) worked while it was installed in a guitar but now is not giving a reading. It may be an easy fix or may need a rewind. Everything else is fully functional. See photos for additional measurements and specs. The Bridge Pickup is very hot at around 10.2k. Mounting screws and springs / tubing for all pickups are included. This pickup set is extremely rare, and each pickup has matching staggered pole pieces. They feature high quality wire and bobbins, with each pickup having its own color (green, red, and orange). The pots have their original capacitor, nuts and washers. The 5 way switch is missing it’s mounting screws. All of the parts have natural oxidation and natural relic wear.
It may have been removed from a higher end Custom edition model, or are from a customized Fender Japan upgraded to Vintage Duncan pickups, Fender Custom Shop, or similar high-end pickup set. The neck pickup strongly resembles the 70s Fullerton era Strat pickups.
Superb, crisp, bell tone. Fully tested and in excellent working condition. They were likely made in USA for assembly in Fender Japan, or are early Fender American Vintage pickups.
