This auction is for THREE sheets of special inkjet decal waterslide transfer 8 1/2" x 11" size paper that will allow you to print any image and affix it to almost any surface. Not only headstock & pickguard decals, but you can also put them on PICKS, MIXING BOARDS and AMPLIFIERS! These are
CLEAR
backed sheets, best used on lighter colored wood (black or dark surfaces not recommended, email me or check my other auctions for
WHITE*
backed sheets for those --
*note: Printers do not print the color white and always leave the color white for the paper to reproduce, so keep in mind that any white that is printed on clear paper will always come out clear and whatever they're placed on will show through.
I will include instructions for easy application, and how to effectively seal your inkjet print jobs from ever smearing.
There is no associated software for you to load or mess with, and you may print from any application you choose, such as Word, Photoshop or whatever you like. Another cool thing -- you won't need to use up an entire sheet per print job, you can just print on the paper until you use all the available space up. That could potentially be a lot of logos the size of the example below, or one really large decal.
The picture of the headstock in Lake Placid Blue was actually my first job. At least it demonstrates what I'm talking about. It shows my "Push & Pull" logo with the text below the logo, "Push and Pull Handmade URTH Instruments, St. Louis, MO"
Please note: I DO NOT SELL PRE-PRINTED DECALS, i.e.: "Fender" "Gibson" or "Martin", so don't bother asking. I am not an authorized dealer of any brand or logo other than my own "Push and Pull Handmade URTH Instruments" or my "Push & Pull" logo.
Ideas for what you do with the decal paper needn't stop with guitars, because these decals will adhere to practically any smooth surface. Don't forget your banjo, mandolin, bass, bouzouki, drums, or perhaps the glass on your studio or office door ("Dr. I. Yankum, D.D.S."). Following is a picture of a bass guitar that my father built in the mid-60's and will probably outlive all of us. A few years ago I scanned an old high school notebook cover that I had painted about the same time he was building the bass, and in the psychedelic spirit of the 60's I printed that scan onto one of these decal sheets and laid it over the pickguard, knobs and a string cover on the back of the bass (not shown). You can do matching up and print larger than this, but this was the biggest single decal overlay I have personally printed from this special paper. With little to no care at all the print job on your decals will last for a long time, if it doesn't outlive us like our precious musical instruments will.
A SECURITY TIP: Not only can you personalize your instrument to instantly recognize it as yours, but for security purposes, a decal can be an invaluable identifying personal "mark". The more subtle and the better it looks, the less a thief may even take notice of it. Law enforcement agencies appreciate ID marks on recovered property as well -- makes their job considerably more organized!
