    Description

    \
On June 13, 1967, Continental Air Lines extended its service eastbound from Houston, Texas to New Orleans, Louisiana, while concurrently extending service northwestward from Wichita, Kansas to the new co-terminal points of Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. Continental's inaugural service at the latter two points coincided with that of Braniff Airways (Air Mail Route 9) and Eastern Air Lines (Air Mail Route 10), all three carriers having been awarded Portland / Seattle service in the Northwest - Southwest Area Trunk Route Case.
This cover was carried on the inaugural Air Mail Route 29 flight from Portland, Oregon to New Orleans, Louisiana (where it was backstamped)
and is listed in the Contract Air Mail Flights (CAM) section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as 12E74.
