Description
You are bidding on a 1938 copy of the presentation book which Kodak once gave to prospective customers for itsCine-Kodak Special
16mm motion picture camera. (One of its pages has the January 1938 price list for the camera and its accessories.)
Introduced in 1933, the
Cine-Kodak Special
was a heavy-duty, precision made camera intended for use by industrial filmmakers, government agencies, hospitals, nature photographers, and well-to-do advanced amateurs. (The basic camera with a 25mm lens, one film chamber, a set of six masks and an oiling outfit cost the equivalent of over ,900.00 in today’s dollars!)
As part of its sales presentation for this camera, Kodak gave prospective customers a lavishly illustrated spiral-bound book, printed on glossy paper and with stiff covers, that showed the
Cine-Kodak Special
along with the many accessories that were available for it. (Please see the images posted with this auction.)
This nice example, dated 1-38, comes from a non-smoking household, measures about 6-1/8” x 9,” and consists of 38 pages illustrated with black and white photos. This is an ex-library copy and has the usual library markings.
The front and back covers have fold marks, but the inside pages are undamaged.
It will be shipped via
USPS
Media Mail with tracking. (Foreign bidders please use eBay’s

Of all the classic 16mm movie cameras that collectors aspire to own, a
Cine-Kodak
Special
usually tops the list. If you already have one in your collection, this presentation book would be an ideal item to display along with it.
Just the book alone will give you a greater appreciation for the versatility of the
Cine-Kodak Special
.
